Have a look at the MTU size setting. I expect the output that follows your command is large enough to fill the entire MTU and gets rejected somewhere further down the path. You can set the MTU in the RedHat parmfile or do an 'ifconfig' manually (e.g. ifconfig eth0 mtu 576) Rob
