I did not find lcs.o inside the 2.4.9-31 kernel update, so I attempted to use the old one when the network didn't load at boot. Has the module(s) been renamed? This website states that only 2.4.9-17 is supported: http://oss.software.ibm.com/developerworks/opensource/linux390/special_o co_rh_2.4.shtml As for having updated to a RawHide kernel, I don't believe so. The updates I acquired yesterday are from ftp://updates.redhat.com/7.2/en/os/s390/. -----Original Message----- From: Pete Zaitcev [mailto:zaitcev@redhat.com] Sent: Wednesday, March 27, 2002 6:52 PM To: Ryan Sweat Cc: redhat-s390-list@redhat.com Subject: Re: [Redhat-s390-list] more lcs troubles > From: Ryan Sweat <h3xm3@swbell.net> > Date: Wed, 27 Mar 2002 18:47:50 -0600 >[...] > I did notice that Redhat released updates for numerous s390 packages > which I had installed, including kernel updates. > [...] Upon reboot, the lcs module attempted to load, > but (due to kernel incompatibility?), it spits out unresolved symbol > urrors and fails to load. IBM's website says only up to kernel-2.4.9-17 > is supported. All updates had lcs issued by IBM, e.g. 2.4.9-31 has one. You are not "updated" into a Raw Hide kernel by any chance? What's the URL of that IBM's website? They sure have a bunch of them. > Is there any hope for IBM to release their lcs driver source as GPL? They did already. Not that it helps with freezes you were expririenced, the code stayed the same. -- Pete
