A new S/390 Red Hat kernel-2.4.9-20.1 is available as a preview for download at:
ftp://ftp.redhat.de/pub/s390-rawhide/updates/

This kernel 2.4.9-20.1 has the following s390 specific extensions to 2.4.9-17:
- IBM patchset no. 4 added
- kernel-source now has the mathemu directory
- IPV6 is enabled everywhere
- a second ramdisk can be punshed in the reader (debian patch)
- there is now a kernel-debug rpm which has been completly compiled with -gstabs
and /boot/Kerntypes-${version} with -gstabs for every kernel
for the usage with the crash dump utilities
- cpint patch (http://penguinvm.princeton.edu/programs/)

Additionally we provide as for all other architectures:
- improved scheduler performance
- scheduler fix
- ext3 oops fix
- updated tux2
- vm race fix
- "top" deadlock fix
- cramfs is now smp safe
- nfs to irix ought to work smoother
- raid1 resync is faster
- bandwidth shaper oops fix
- TCP/IP ack bug fix for talking to solaris
- improved TCP/IP arp table overflow handling

We plan to release a new official errata kernel, so, if you are interested in testing this kernel, please let us know of bugs, oddities, wanted features, except of the IBM OCO modules.

Have fun!
Harald
