Title: RE: [Redhat-s390-list] problem installing latest code

The kernel rpm is on the disc2 iso. How does the installer know to switch to the second iso image which I have mounted on /disc2? Did I miss something in the README?  I downloaded the iso images from ftp.redhat.de/s390 last night and I visually compared the dates and sizes of /RedHat/base and everything looks exactly the same.

Thanks, John

Right. The file "RedHat/base/list" to find the correct rpm that
should be installed. So if this file is not updated, the newer kernel
is not found and the installation will fail.

The best thing to verify a correct and updated download is to run:

        rsync -av --delete rsync://ftp.redhat.de/s390 /local/s390
