[Redhat-s390-list] OCO Modules and Latest Kernels

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Just in case anyone hasn't realized it, the movement to the 2.4.9 kernel for
the Red Hat RC make it increasingly unlikely that the IBM OCO modules will
work on this platform. Until, that is, IBM upgrades their modules to that
level (which may or may not happen. IBM doesn't necessarily produce OCO
modules for every level of the kernel). While they _may_ work, IBM is very
vocal about making sure your OCO modules match your kernel level. So, if
you're having strange problems with lcs or qeth, etc. on 2.4.9, that could
very well be the cause.

Also, out of curiosity, did anyone ever get their OSA cards working on the
Red Hat RC? If so, please let the list(s) know. Thanks.
