Hi, I am giving my RedHat guest 64Mb of memory and am trying to install via
the tape kernel.

Can you give us information on how much memory you give your VM?
How are you trying to install?

This should be ok, since only a very small code at the beginning of the
boot process is changed between the "normal" and the tape kernel.
