This doesn't directly answer your question, but the last time I checked
there was no port of the modules to support xpcom for the s390:

	http://lxr.mozilla.org/mozilla/source/xpcom/reflect/xptcall/status.html

These must be written native (non-portable) for each platform, and I
don't know enough about the s390 architecture to take it on.  Do you
know if anyone has done this yet?  If not, mozilla won't work regardless
of the libraries.
