I tried the LCS0 and it also loops.  These are the last messages before the
loop


lcs: eth0 configured as follows read subchannel=d write subchannel=e

read_devno=0fc0 write_devno=0fc1

hw_address=00:04:AC:E3:1F:D2 rel_adapter_no=1  
lcs configured to use sw statistics,     
ip checksumming of received packets is of
autodetection is off ignore sense is off.
configured to detect                     
cu_model 0x01,15 rel_adapter(s)          
cu_model 0x08,15 rel_adapter(s)          
cu_model 0x60,1 rel_adapter(s)           
cu_model 0x1F,15 rel_adapter(s)

Same here, but I do see it make a mount request to the NFS server:

May  1 15:46:43 linux rpc.mountd: authenticated mount request from
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:626 for /s390-root (/s390-root)

My VM guy says the same thing here.
