Hi Mark,
One of the best books which I have used is RedHat RPM Guide. There is a free version of the book available in Fedora RPM project which explains the design principles & best practices.
http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora_Draft_Documentation/0.1/html/RPM_Guide/

Hope this helps!!

hello all,

can someone suggest a couple of good books / information sources on rpm packaging.

i really need a "ground up" introduction / best practices.

i have a production build environment running on linux using ant to do the build.

our packaging system (at this time) is a large .tar file (of a directory structure) that we distribute.

i need to convert all of this to rpms.

thank you
mark
