The 1st argument to the script is used to detect whether installing or upgrading.
E.g. in %pst $1 >1 if upgrading, $1 == 1 if installing.

Renaming (and Obsolete'ing the old) is not an upgtade case because the package
is being renamed.

What are you trying to do?
