I am using rpm version 4.2 on redhat 9 (Shrike) I have found that I have been getting hangs and segmentation faults when I try and install rpm packages. I have also found that many of the rpm packages I had installed are not listed when I do rpm -qa. I have followed instructions here http://www.rpm.org/hintskinks/repairdb/ to rebuild the rpm database the packages but that doesn't have any effect. (ie rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db*, rpm --rebuilddb ..etc) I tried to upgrade to v4.2.1 but I think that I have rpm 4.1 installed as an rpm however I can't verify this. I tried to upgrade to v4.2.1 but i get a hang see the following debug. Any help appreciated.
