dependecy checking without install

Hi,
i develop a small rpm-frontend in java.
The main feature is to check if a package could be installed without the
requirement to download it first.
I find out that a
"rpm -qpR ftp://package.xyz.rpm"; (or rpm -qp --queryformat)
tell us the requirements of a package without downloading it.
The output is like:
susefax-1.0beta3-432.i586.rpm
jre1.1.x
/bin/sh
rpmlib(PayloadIsBzip2) <= 3.0.5-1

But i find no rpm command that checks if this deps are satisfied.
a "rpm --whatprovides xyz" only accept package names
and no input like"rpmlib(PayloadIsBzip2)".
But i think that rpm can do it and I'm only to stupid to do it.

Thanks
