Run

$ rpm --showrc | grep %topdir

it will tell you all the directories that rpm uses because unless you played
with the configurations, all paths should begin with %topdir

If you have directory overrides in a specfile or some other place rpmbuild but
not rpm will see it run also

$ rpmbuild -bb specfile.spec --showrc | grep %topdir

they should be the same, but sometimes it is not depending on your specific
configurations.
