Problem installing Soundblaster 16 PCI in Redhat 8.0

I am trying to get a new soundcard to work under Redhat 8.0. I've seen lots of postings about getting the Soundblaster 16 PCI to work in linux but I haven't been able to fix my problem. The soundcard is detected as a Ensoniq 5880. It looks like people have gotten in to work using this configuration, but I'm still lost.
