It (XMMS) was seleced, it seems, during installation. When I use gnome Desktop
envornment, I could invoke XMMS. Whenever I press the Play button, it asks me
to select files. After I select, close the selection dialog box and press
play, it again asks me to select files. I observed similar beheavior on an
another (differ from XMMS, atleaset in user interface) package that is known
to play MP3. I do not remember its name.

Previously I used play MP3 files on a Redhat 7.2, from command prompt with tha
command mpg123 or mpg321. I could not do that not.

Any clue, please?

Thanks and regards,
chandra
