I just got a Dell (dude) to use as a home server and get smart on Linux. RedHat 8.0 installed OK, but sound is not working. The i810_audio driver installed originally. Sndconfig also likes that driver, but when a test is done, init_module says “no such device”, and insmod says “failed”. I get these same messages on every shutdown. There was a message in the sound-list archives a couple of months ago indicating that i810_audio was incomplete for support of this chip. Did that ever get fixed, and is a fix available anywhere? |
