[Sound] no sound with Red Hat 8.0

I have MSI KT-3 motherboard w/ onboard sound, running RedHat 8.0. I can't get the sound to work. The OS would recognize the the sound interface, but when I use Sound Config to test for sound nothing happen. And I also got a message saying that /dev/dsp is not recognize when I log in.

And this maybe something off the subject. I can't get my modem to work. I would get "Modem is busy" when I try to connect. I downloaded and install the driver from Conexant but still got the same message. I have a PCI v.92/v.44. The OS would recognize it as HSFi.

This is where I downloaded the driver and installed without any error.

Please help me, I don't want to keep booting into windoze to check my email.
