SV: After an update som modules points to the old kernel

Hi There

running:
depmod -a 2.4.20-31.9

listed a lot of errors: symbols not resolved 

still booting and running, but still no network, floppy or CD.

With the new kernel running, run "depmod -ae" as root user.
What do /boot and /lib/modules look like?
