i didn't get any response from another list. so i am posting it here.

i am in a situation to choose between IBM X225 and HP Proliant ML150 servers. I am going to run RedHat Linux(probably shrike). Which is the best system to choose? Any one there using either of the systems.

sorry for cross posting.

thanks,
SK

hmm..i think that might just be a "hp certified" version of redhat 9 for
its servers, with the right drivers included etc.. maybe a bit more
testing done on it for hp hardware

Follow this link:

The name under Driver - Storage Controller is:
"Red Hat Linux 9.0 Professional" ZCR driver for ProLiant ML150

Is it same redhat linux 9.0(Shrike) or a different version. i haven't heared about any Professional version till before this. i am confused.
Since i am going to spend(a lot) for server, i wanted to make sure that RedHat 9.0 Professional is same as Shrike.

Thanks,
SK

i am in a state of buying a new HP server, ML150. In the supported OS i saw RedHat Linux 9.0. In the driver's section they have given the drivers for RedHat Linux 9.0 Professional. Is professional a separate version. If so, How is it different from RedHat Linux 9.0 that i am using now?

thanks,
