[OT] Re: kernel 2.6.3 + modprobe errors

If the rest of his installation is RH9, I'd say he posted to the correct place.

I don't, however, have any experience with 2.6.x

I do run 2.4.22 with Greg's latest usb scripts, and get good usb behavior I don't get with stock RH9.

My usb memory key gets mounted automagically upon insertion, and unmounted when removed.

I don't want to start a "flame war" or "religious" discussion simply
express MHO.

IMHO, a major part of what defines "Red Hat 9" (or any other distro's
version) is the kernel being run and the utilities that support the
running kernel.  RH9 uses a 2.4 kernel.  The choice to run a 2.6 kernel
means you are no longer running RH9.

I hope you find help here...but it seems to me to be OT for a shrike
