Problems with gconfd / CORBA

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

I am normally a KDE and not GNOME user. But I use a few GNOME-based applications. They worked OK with RH 7.2. Now I get an error (e.g. from Nautilus) that config data cannot be fetched because gconfd cannot run. Another application stated: "
gobject.GError: Failed to contact configuration server; some possible causes are that you need to enable TCP/IP networking for ORBit, or you have stale NFS locks due to a system crash." I had no system crash and I have changed nothing in TCP/IP.

I tried "by hand" with gconftool-2 --spawn and got the following error:

"Failed to spawn the config server (gconfd): Adding client to server's list failed, CORBA error: IDL:omg.org/CORBA/COMM_FAILURE:1.0"

What can I do to get this running again...?

br,
Pekka
