Hi there,

I am trying to get a screensaver working. Under KDE, if I set the screensaver using the control center, nothing happens. That is, the screensaver appears to be set, but nothing ever happens - it never comes on. What's more, I can't get the lock screen button to do anything.

So I tried xscreensaver. THe command "xscreensaver" produces a little window with a "Settings" and a "Help" button. "Settings" simply causes the window to vanish; "Help" does nothing.

The command "xscreensaver-demo" causes a segmentation fault.

Anybody know how I can get a screensaver working, and be able to lock the screen?

Thanks!

cheers,
Alasdair

are you doing this as root? if so, that's why it doesn't work.
