open a shell and type

hwbrowser &

click on the hard drives section.
note what number your fat partition is. it should be something like 

/dev/hda1 or /dev/hdb2 (numbers may vary)

then type

mkdir /mnt/fat

and then type 

mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/fat

(change the number 1 to whatever the fat partition was in hwbrowser)

all your files on the windows filesystem should now be accesible under
/mnt/fat
