Hmmm, I've noticed this too. I think it's some mode changes and/or video card iitialisation... I don't reboot or power down/up my machine very often, though, so I don't see it much. :) Mind you, part of the reason I don't restart much is that when I do I have to fiddle to get the secondary monitor on my dual-head card to turn on...
