Windows will be the huge problem (nothing new...), we have Linux, Mac OS X and Solaris all playing along nicely with kerberos, and we are still in "beta" on ldap (right now we use kerberos+NIS, but it is clear that it will work just fine for those 3), for the windows boxes, your best bet is samba, and keep a sinchronized smbpasswd file.
