iproute security fix breaks tc?

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I applied the recent iproute security fix via up2date and found that my traffic shaping script was emitting a message to the effect of

htb: unknown qdisc

and nothing was being configured, that is , tc -s -d qdisc returned nothing.

I forced an older version of the iproute2 utilities using the following rpm:

iproute-2.4.7-7.i386.rpm

which I found on a mirror of the Redhat 9 stuff.

This restored functionality without any ill effects so far.

I have seen one other report of the problem on the usenet group aus.computers.linux .
