=>Hi everyone,
=>
=> I'm kind of a newbie with RH9 and I've got a tough one (for me at
=>least)... My system was installed with nothing at all and now I need to
=>install GCC. I've tried using the rpm, but it tells me that I'm missing
=>dependencies. I've installed all of them except glibc-devel, which
=>tells me that I need kernel-headers to install glibc-devel. Of course,
=>I've tried installing kernel-source (couldn't find kernel-headers
=>anywhere), and it tells me I need GCC, which is what I'm trying to
=>install in the first place!!! Anyone out there know a way to go through
=>this loophole and finally install GCC on my RH9 system???
=>
=>Thanks!!!
You need to run the install of what you need as one big command. e.g.,

rpm -Uvh gcc..rpm kernelstuff.rpm otherstuffneededbygcc.rpm

rpm will look at the whole list and decide if it's good.
