mount /sys fs and get blank X screen!

Hi all.

I was trying to mount /sys filesystem according to the following instructions:

http://thomer.com/linux/migrate-to-2.6.html

Which I have to say is a great source of information for dummies like me who want to use the latest kernel code!

When I restarted my machine, strangely, I got a blank screen from x, but I could interact with XWindows, like do login and pressing ctrl+alt+del to ask it to shutdown the computer.

I'm using the following kernel 2.6.0-test9:
Linux 2.6.0-0.test9.1.74 #1 Fri Nov 7 08:14:07 EST 2003 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

On a Compaq Evo N1020v laptop.

Do you know of anything about this??

Thanks in advance.
