Asunto: rpm uninstallation

how does one determine which rpms are installed? i have a corporate rh9
installation, but the image contains many extras that i do not want or
need. i want to uninstall those particular rpms, but i have not been
able to locate a a dir from which they were installed.

i found /usr/src/redhat which looked promising, but all the
subdirectories underneath it were empty.

i even tried the gui add/remove tool, but it seemed only to apply to
redhat included items, and not the programs that were added to the image
  by the corporate it.
