To switch between environments use: /usr/bin/switchdesk or you could modify the file
in your home directory called .Xclients-defaults.

Subject: Switching between GNOME and KDE

Hi all

I'm quite new to Red Hat Linux and Linux in general.

I have installed a RH9 server wich I administrate remotely through SSH and VNC. I have installed both GNOME and KDE desktop enviroments.

When I connect to the box using VNC I get the default GNOME desktop. I know when you boot up to a graphical login you can select wich desktop you want for this session before loggin in but I have a no moniror connected to the server at this time...

I suppose if I had changed this at the login screen and then loggedd inn with KDE and selected it as default I then could login using VNC and then I also had KDE via VNC. But as I said that is hard to change without a monirot connected to the server.

How can I change between KDE and GNOME?
Where can I change this? Wich config file holds this?

Please help me identify the config file where I can change between KDE and GNOME desktops and how it is done.

Thanks in advance :-)

Øyvind
