USB automounter

For lack of knowledge of a USB automounter, I'm writing my own.

What I have done frequently works well.

Detecting the thumbdrive is by system("grep -q usb-storage /proc/bus/usb/devices");

Occasionally, this hangs for about 5 seconds. When that happens, lsusb(8) also hangs for about 5 seconds.

mount() and umount() calls, rather than system("mount") seem to leave the device mounted so far as df can tell, but "umount /dev/sda1" works correctly.

Any clues or pointers to TFM that I'll happily R?

Brian.
