I have tried this, as recommended by the sendmail page at
http://www.sendmail.org/~ca/email/chk-89f.html

but it still allows mail from that IP.

here are some tests I have tried with real IP addresses
[root@oceania kevin]# /usr/sbin/sendmail -bt
[root@oceania kevin]# /usr/sbin/sendmail -bt
ADDRESS TEST MODE (ruleset 3 NOT automatically invoked)
Enter <ruleset> <address>

map_lookup: access (200) no match (0)

map_lookup: access (24.197.146) no match (0)

map_lookup: access (24.229) no match (0)

map_lookup: access (wanadoo.fr) returns ERROR:"550 Spam filter activated" (0)

I rebuild the access.db each time I edit the access file, so no silly problems there.
it just does not seem to catch the mails from these IP addresses.

Kind regards
