You need a kernel that is capable of that. I managed with 2.6 test8. You
also have to install some packages from Fedora core like rhgb and pass
rhgb to the kernel in the grub configuration. 

I compiled my own kernel, so I do not know if the kernel from
people.redhat.com/arjanv work well for this.

You will also need to upgrade a lot of other programs like modutils and
so on. Instructions can be found on the site given above. Expect to do a
little work though.
