installing two linux operating systems

Hi,

This is a question stemming largely from my status as an ignorant newbie. I
have my home directory on /usr/local/ and have RH9 installed on /. I would like
to try out two new OS's -- Fedora and SuSE9.0 -- but not throw out the RH9. How
do I go about doing this? I guess when I install a new OS, how do we specify
the /?

Thanks and best wishes!
