How to keep a package while using apt-get remove

Hi!
I would like to keep a running package, kernel#2.4.20-20.9drbl, which is
compiled by me.
Is that possible to run it like
apt-get remove -o RPM::Hold::="kernel#2.4.20-20.9drbl" kernel.*#.*drbl
I tried, but apt still asked me to confirm that if I want to remove
kernel#2.4.20-20.9drbl.
Does anyone know how to make it ? Or how can I use regular expression to
make it ?
Thanks in advance.
