you'll need to create two ntfs or dos partitions for winxp, and at least that for linux... both OS's need their boot partition within the first 2 gb of the drive... so create your /boot partition.. say 1gb.. and your C:\ say 1gb.. both at the beginning of the drive, then use the rest of the drive for your other partitions..
Err... /boot is usually 100MB (one-tenth of what you suggest), and I usually _still_ have 70MB left over. Perhaps start with something like:
* /boot, ext3, 100MB
* C:, NTFS, 10-15GB (system and apps)
* D:, FAT32, whatever size you want (data)
* /, ext3, whatever size you want
* swap partition for Linux, twice the size of your RAM
I suggest FAT32 for the data partition so you can mount it within Linux as well. That way you have access to _all_ of your data from within Linux.
