Maple6 & RH9

After upgrading from RH7.3 --> RH9, part of Maple6 broke. No matter
how I start it, I see the following message:

Incorrectly built binary which accesses errno,
h_errno or _res directly. Needs to be fixed.

When I invoke it with 'maple' (command line mode), it works (though
the 'plot()' commands only produce ASCII graphs!). When started with
'xmaple', the application immediately "seg faults".

My hunch is that the behavior is caused by a library problem.

Does anyone know of a workaround?

Thanks,
