The way to have md5sum check the sums is to use the -c flag ont the md5sum file.
$ md5sum foo.bar.rpm 19a721224b3c6593a43e51fe1b53c6d4 foo.bar.rpm
and compare the result to the contents of the foo.bar.rpm.md5 file
provided by the package author
Isn't there any way to get it to compare it to the md5 file provided by the author. It's kinda hard for me to compare like 20+ chracters on a 1400x1050 resolution.. (read: eye - strain)
:)
Of course there must be a shell script way but I'm lazy (read : Don't know how.)

ie: md5sum -c foo.bar.rpm.md5
The files to sheck must be in the same directory as the md5sum file.
