What I mean is the following. Assume you mount your Red Hat Linux partition /dev/hda9 on /mnt/rh. When you execute a command /mnt/rh/usr/bin/foo you would need to point the dynamic linker/loader to the libraries in /mnt/rh/usr/lib/ and other directories below /mnt/rh. If you don't, it tries to use Knoppix's libraries. This can be a source of problems. To see whether the commands work, you could try "chroot"ing into the mounted partition, e.g. with: chroot /mnt/rh - -- Michael, who doesn't reply to top posts and complete quotes anymore. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/gsb70iMVcrivHFQRAruTAJ9piZhQMdSdyYN/51WVePmmoTTJiQCfZYu+ b7xywxF8JGPTiRPdaKLvvMk= =AFr0 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- Shrike-list mailing list Shrike-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/shrike-list
