Is the MTA he's using anything that makes use of procmail?  Does 
he have shell access on the system that receives/stores his email?
Sendmail isn't a prerequisite...just an MTA that makes use of it, or a 
.forward that has a call to procmail in it.

I don't recall seeing anything that said he wasn't using Sendmail (or 
procmail, as the case may be).
