I looked at the drive and it had no branding on it that I could see. Micro Direct (where I got mine) http://www.microdirect.co.uk have got ones by a company called SamCheer but as its a while since I bought mine I'm not sure if its that one! (Model name is Samcheer SC-H31S)

No problem. For people in the UK I bought it in Micro Direct but there web site seems to be playing up at the moment. Mine was a no name brand but I notice Dabs are selling a Belkin one at 59UKP :-

I'll check the make that I've got and repost tomorrow.

Contrary to the post by Gregory mine has worked fine. (connected to a Tyan Tiger MPX motherboard). The only problem I had was the original kernel would lock up when the drive was powered down but its fine now.

I bought a USB enclosure (sorry - can't remember the make and I'm at work) which was about 40UKP which would take normal hard disks and it works fine including the hotplugging. Means you can just swap in and out disks while the machine is running...

Rob,

If you could look out the details when you get home I'd be most grateful ... forty quid sounds good to me.
