Well after a little digging I found that the php compile was complaining about some openssl files. I checked and I have openssl-0.9.7a-5 installed as well as the devel rpm I decided to download the latest source 0.9.7.b and compile and install. This worked and I was then able to build apache and php. My question now is what are the dangers if any of having an rpm and the source install installed on the same machine ? I can't uninstall the rpm because it comlpains of dependecies and I need the source now for my apache setup.

Subject: Apachetoolbox

Has anyone compiled apache 1.3.28 on redhat 9 using apachtoolbox , I keep getting errors during the php compile part but php compiles fine by itself.
