On Wednesday 03 September 2003 22:03, Vladimir G. Ivanovic uttered: > Why not? Red Carpet and Yum resolve RPM dependencies just fine. Red Carpet is a Ximian product, it points to Ximian sources and is able to resolve things that Ximian packages ask for. Yum is only able to resolve deps when you point it at a source that contains the deps needed. If you don't point yum to a Ximian source, it's going to fail just as up2date failed. up2date is a Red Hat tool, that points to Red Hat sources (currently, will change w/ RHL10), thus it is only able to resolve deps of Red Hat packages. Ximian packages are not Red Hat packages. -- Jesse Keating RHCE MCSE http://geek.j2solutions.net Mondo DevTeam (www.mondorescue.org) Was I helpful?
