The annoying bug for glibc update is still NOT FIXED.

Hi! Michael and William:
Thanks, the reason I have to use i686 -> i386 glibc "upgrades" is that
we have lots of clients which use nfs to mount the filesystem from RH9
server. They might be PII, K7, PIII, P4 or athlon XP...
You will see a lot of people are in the same condition in
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=88456

Anyway, I check rawhide and severn, the bug fix is shown in 2.3.2-28,
where Jakub Jelinek <jakub@xxxxxxxxxx> wrote:

It's fixed, but the rpm is not in the RH9 updates.
Well, in that case, I am trying to use glibc in rawhide
(glibc-2.3.2-78.src.rpm) or severn (glibc-2.3.2-57.src.rpm) to rebuild
it, but failed. Both I got the same error:
-----------------------------------
...
++ sed 's/^linuxthreads-\([0-9.]*\) .*$/\1/' ../linuxthreads/Banner
sed: relocation error: ./libc.so.6: symbol __libc_stack_end, version
GLIBC_PRIVATE not defined in file ld-linux.so.2 with link time reference
+ gcc -static -L. -Os ../redhat/glibc_post_upgrade.c -o
glibc_post_upgrade -DARCH_386 '-DVERSION="2.3.2"' '-DPVERSION=""'
'-DGCONV_MODULES_CACHE="/usr/lib/gconv/gconv-modules.cache"'
gcc: relocation error: ./libc.so.6: symbol __libc_stack_end, version
GLIBC_PRIVATE not defined in file ld-linux.so.2 with link time reference
error: Bad exit status from /home/steven/rpmbuild/tmp/rpm-tmp.78959 (%build)

RPM build errors:
Bad exit status from /home/steven/rpmbuild/tmp/rpm-tmp.78959 (%build)
-------------------------------------------------------------

Is that possible I can rebuild this fixed version in RH9 ?
Thanks.
