Don't worry, this is not an apt-get, yum, RPM sucks post. rpm --help lists several options for getting provided/required files from RedHat packages so I tried them. -------------------- find a file to play with # rpm -q passwd passwd-0.68-4 --------------------- rpm --whatrequires passwd-0.68-4 gives rpm usage, doesn't work although its listed in the man. Same thing with: rpm --whatprovides passwd-0.68-4 rpm --requires passwd-0.68-4 rpm --provides passwd-0.68-4 rpm --fileprovide passwd-0.68-4 rpm --file require passwd-0.68-4 now redhatprovides/requires does something different but still fails: rpm --redhatrequires passwd-0.68-4 no package requires passwd-0.68-4 I even have rpmdb-redhat installed, whats going on here? -- Shrike-list mailing list Shrike-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/shrike-list
