Nothing is installed there, or in any other location for that matter.
Has anybody managed to install those libraries on RH9? How? What am I
doing wrong (I know almost no python...)

What do you mean by "nothing is installed there"? Those look to me like exactly the files you should see, based on the output of the setup script.
