Evolution 1.4.4 - Loading Images in received messages

I'm using RH 9 behind a user authenticated proxy/firewall, and I cannot load 
the images in received html messages, on Evolution 1.4.4
As far as I know, the Evolution uses the Gnome's global proxy parameters to 
load images from internet. I've already configured it, but it still doesn't 
work. No log entries are generated enabling the option --debug on Evolution 
call, neither on /var/log/messages.

Any suggestions are welcome!
