The above should come up as /dev/hda and /dev/hdb.

This should probably actually read Drive 3 and Drive 4, yes?

Assuming that the secondary IDE on the motherboard is still active (which 
would have been hdc and hdd), you should probably see them as /dev/hde and 
/dev/hdg, respectively.
