Hello,i guess we should start with the obvious: is the media you are using capable of greater than an 24x write speed?
I have just purchased a new Iomega CD-rw 52 write speed. It's hooked up to my dell gx260 which supposely has two usb 2 ports in the front. Does rh9 support usb 2? 'cause I'm writing at about 24x.
lspci | grep -i usb 00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82801DB USB (Hub #1) (rev 01) 00:1d.1 USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82801DB USB (Hub #2) (rev 01) 00:1d.2 USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82801DB USB (Hub #3) (rev 01) 00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82801DB USB EHCI Controller (rev 01)
cdrecord version is 2 release 6
-thank you
I got a hold of 48x capable media and tried it again. my Average write speed has gone up to 31.3x.
thanks for the tip. >
no problem. also remember the speed rating of the drive is the max speed it can obtain. that does not mean that it will write at 52x constant speed.
