Hello,

I have just purchased a new Iomega CD-rw 52 write speed. It's hooked up to my dell gx260 which supposely has two usb 2 ports in the front. Does rh9 support usb 2? 'cause I'm writing at about 24x.

lspci | grep -i usb
00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82801DB USB (Hub #1) (rev 01)
00:1d.1 USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82801DB USB (Hub #2) (rev 01)
00:1d.2 USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82801DB USB (Hub #3) (rev 01)
00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82801DB USB EHCI Controller (rev 01)

cdrecord version is 2 release 6

-thank you

i guess we should start with the obvious: is the media you are using capable of greater than an 24x write speed?

I got a hold of 48x capable media and tried it again. my Average write speed has gone up to 31.3x.

thanks for the tip.

no problem. also remember the speed rating of the drive is the max speed it can obtain. that does not mean that it will write at 52x constant speed.
