You really need to get your hands dirty to work with 2.6. 2.4.20 = stable current line of RedHat kernels 2.4.21 = kernel in testing for next RHL release. (kernel.org considers 2.4.21 stable- but if you don't have a specific need then stick with the RedHat stable kernel aka 2.4.20) For what it's worth I have an four unnamed's in /proc/devices under Block Devices- which looking at mount points on my system. The rest of the entries in Block Devices map to the mount points. It doesn't seem that your lsmod question is a bug. This kind of confirms the BIOS harddrive callback support line of thought... -- Regards, Adam Allen. adam@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx pgp http://search.keyserver.net:11371/pks/lookup?op=vindex&search=adam%40dynamicinteraction.co.uk
